Department of M Pharmacy

The Indian pharmaceutical industry is the world's 13th largest by value and third largest in the world by volume. Hence, there is heavy demand to Pharma postgraduates in Pharma industry. Only B. Pharm degree does not sufficient the ever changing demand of pharmaceutical industry and pharmacy profession. Master’s degree or specialization in the field of pharmaceutical sciences is must for brighter future. Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharmacy) in India is offered as post graduate course after completion of B.Pharm degree. The M. Pharm course is of two years duration. As per the new Credit Based System of PCI, it is two semester (one year) theory and practical examinations and two semesters for research work. The course focuses on specialisation in the field of pharmacy. The M.Pharm programmes are intended to give an immersive professional experience and an opportunity to acquire further competence either in one’s own discipline. M. PHARM. (PHARMACEUTICS)

Master program in Pharmaceutics was started in the year of 2022 with an intake of 15 students. The department of Pharmaceutics is well equipped. The major focus of the department is to provide trained students with a strong focus to academia, pharmaceutical industry or research institutions. We offer a training environment that includes the latest formulation laboratory instrumentation and technologies supervised by experienced teachers and dedicated staff. Our laboratories are specialised in the development of hydrogels, liposomes, nanoparticles, phytosomes, etc. Pharmacetics department is continuously engaged in publication of research articles and patents.


M. PHARM. (PHARMACOLOGY)

Master program in Pharmacology was started in the year of 2022 with an intake of 06 students. The department has well established animal house with all sophisticated instruments as well as the equipments. The different equipment includes plethysmometer, biochemical analyser, digital actophotometer, rota-rod apparatus, elevated plus maze, electro convulsometer, digital analgesiometer, with other routinely required instruments like digital student's organ bath and Kymograph etc. The main objective of department is to provide trained students in preclinical and clinical studies. The major research areas of department include preclinical screening of compounds for various activities like toxicological, neuropsychological, behavioural, etc. With successful completion of these two programs, students will be able to develop suitable career in different areas such as R & D, F & D, Quality assurance, Regulatory affairs, Pre-clinical studies, Clinical research and Academics. Also, they are eligible for JRF, SRF and PhD in pharmacy.
